Music! In the old days that might be in the form of CDs, cassette tapes, vinyls. These days iTune mp3s I suppose might be the preferred.
Pros:
1. Cheaper than expensive jewelry, vintage wines and steakhouses.
2. More original and thoughtful than your run of the mill gifts
3. Can get you both in the mood to enjoy all that other stuff, anyway.
4. Facilitates emotional connection
Cons:
1. Effort involved in searching for the right music

I am a female runner and here are a few things that I'd like to get for Christmas:
- Running socks (I'm always in need of running socks) - would also work as stocking fillers
- A Koala Clip (it's a phone pocket to clip onto a sports bra)
- A gift card from the local running shop to get fitted shoes
Other ideas:
- I personally don't like jewelry at all, but some people really like these bracelets with inspirational quotes on them. I don't know what they are called.
- A gift card for a sports massage or a spa to recover from training.
- Roll Recovery R8
- Nice headphones (e.g. AfterShokz bone conduction headphones)
- A running-related book
How about a peleton?
