Surprised to see Adola back with a 2:04 again. I thought the Rzhev Meat Grinder he had with Kipchoge in Berlin 2017 destroyed him for good

Correct. Addicted to the adulation. Narcissists and liars don't typically end the day well.

This is ESPN analyst BS. Athletes don't owe anyone a narrative. If they want to compete after they've peaked, that's entirety their business.
Personally, I think retiring on top is a coward's move unless you're really just no longer interested in competition.

That's fair, but when everyone in-the-know is realizing you're probably a cheat you get out before your reputation is disgraced. Lance would have gotten away with it. The longer Mo continues to try and make waves and stay at the top the more likely it is he will be found out and exposed. Maybe he has enough powerful people around him to where he feels protected, but it seems he has made some enemies and is connected to Alberto, obviously - the writing is on the wall.
So you are right - he can write his own narrative, but he'll potentially have to live with the consequences just like Lance has had to.
He need to take his last chance and change coach once more! He need to let in some magic... )))
He need the magic wizard coach, ........ JS !

Does Farah have any Euro records left?
He still has the 1500m European record I think
Yes Farah has the 1500 European Record AND The 10000 on the Track, he also has the Fastest Half Marathon 59:07 (Which is NOT considered the European Record because it was Slightly/30 Meters Downhill)

Jakob I. to claim that from him next summer?
That's very well written. I agree 100%. He's really burned some bridges the last 2-3 years, so some of those connections might just be dead ends for protection. His ace in the hole is the "sir" title. The crown (Cole) would do everything in their power to not have a positive exposed. The downfall will come from a leak.

The 59:07 is essentially = to Ryan Halls 2:04. It was downhill + he had massive tailwinds as that is was a point to point course. He is good for around 59:30. Far less than the real record holders' 59:13.

Mo Farah has found a dead end:
- He is getting bullied in the marathon and dropping in the world rankins, the only athlete to not improve his times in this Vaporflys years
- a new strong generation of track runner has emerged, which give him little hope to perform at 35+ on track. Cheptegai , Kejelcha look too strong against him in the 10k and the 5k look hopeless with Edriss, Barega and the others.
- The only coach who made him successful at age 28 and after had been banned for doping violations
- He is getting suspected and interrogated by his own english media and has been getting into fight in Ethiopia.
I will add :
-He lost the European World record to Kaan Kigen Ozbilen (TUR) today in Valwencia– 2:04:16 ( New European Record)

So it's BS to say someone stuck around too long, but it's ok to say they are cowards if they retire too soon.
Saying someone stuck around "too long" is not about facts. Whether it's true depends on what we think is "too long." But saying someone's a coward is about facts. Where is your evidence that guys who retire on top are cowards?

Awful take from 800 dude.

As he just decided to move back to the 10000, Cheptegei clocks 26:38 on road, showing who da boss is.
Then to add insult to injury, Mo's European marathon record gets demolished, by nearly a minute, also in Valencia.
Perhaps it's a sign ....
I agree that it will tarnish his legacy when he loses the 10000m next year, but I don't think he is under any obligation to retire to avoid that. People age, it happens. Watching Brady the last few games has been painful.
i haven't been following the pro running scene in years. did mo farah start falling after leaving alberto?
Yeah, no way in hell he beats Cheptegei.
When is the US going to naturalize an East African so that we can claim "records" as well?
Herb Elliott.
Cole? Did you mean Coe?

Not at all. He went to Ethiopia to train with Jama Aden and started a row with Haile when Haile wouldn't allow Aden to stay in his hotel. He also was involved in a fight during that time at a gym in Ethiopia. The heat was too much with Aden, and so he switched to Mr. Paula Radcliffe as his coach. He started falling off when he moved to the marathon and away from set up wins like the Great North Run.

We've desperately been trying; but aside from chelimo and Lagat, they're only B listers.

Ozbilen (not his birthname), import from Kenya.
Just saying. Euro records mean less, with countries like Turkey fast tracking import mercenaries.
