Does Nico Young break German Fernandez’s course record?
Can anybody stop Great Oak in D1?
Who will the big upsets be?

Buchanan girls could challenge Great Oak
Bellarmine College Prep is running their full lineup and is the favorite to get 3rd in the merge. I saw that they had a couple of guys out at sections due illness. If they don’t get healthy, Dublin or Strangio-led Jesuit could challenge them.

Strangio will keep up with Young long enough to get out kicked.
Nice showing by Campo with 2 frosh in their top 5.
Newbury Park 1-2-3 at 1 mile in D2 boys, Young at 4:30. 4th and 5th runners around 4:50 which seems a better pace for them.

Strangio and Young aren’t racing in the same division
Aschbrenner only 25 seconds off of Young, Sahlman only 40. If all three were going hard, at that pace they will score very low at NXN.
How muddy is the course today?
Buchanan way ahead of GO at 1 mile mark

this is girls D1 race
A lot tighter at 2.05 miles. I also see Tori Gaitan is not running for GO.
Carlie Dorostkar wins and almost breaks Julia Stamps's 23-year-old course record. Very impressive.

Yes, very impressive. But I thought Baxter's 16:40 was the record.
Sorry, I was looking at the Northern CA all-time list, which shouldn't even exist. Milesplit lists Claudia Lane's 2017 time of 16:30 as the record. So go back to swimming, Carlie! :)

Correct - sorry I was looking at Div I. Still, only Lane, Baxter and Stamps have run faster. Where did this girl come from? Her track times would not indicate she is this fast.
There's a good milesplit interview with her. She never ran until 9th grade, and then still preferred swimming until she couldn't ignore her own talent. She's taken huge jumps every year and looks like she might be as good as any true college freshman by the time XC rolls around next year.
I think Newbury Park wins the merge over Great Oak 91 to 112 by my count.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
