Seems more likely to me that Cheptegei wins double gold than Farah wins a medal of any color.
5th-8th if he’s not banned by then.
The British have a new faces of track and field in Dinner Asher Smith and Katrina Johnson Thompson. Mo Farah is not taking being overshadowed well. Combined with his lack of dominance in the marathons and his appeal is fading. Reduced winnings from few or no podium finishes, next no appearance fees, no endorsements etc....hope he saved/invested well. When he performed poorly in Chicago, he didnt even address the press. And the press coverage of his marathon career was quite adamant he won't be a force there. The competition is too fierce. The pple who dusted him in Chicago are not household names in the marathon. They are younger. And there are tens more where these come from (Kenya, Ethiopia). By this announcement he pushes himself back into the news. He has now received funding for the olympics preparations from UK athletics and can expect to remain in the news until the games. Will a 37/38 yr old Farah beat Cheptegei/Kejelcha/Kipruto et al who are all below 24 yrs? Time will tell.
