jamin is my hero
Only top 3 broke 30 minutes for 8K right? I raced Claremont Turkey Trot 5K today and got 4th place with a 16:57. Heavy rain and cold (36 RealFeel) with some winds(7-8 mph). Won my age group and was top masters (40+) as well.

Your posts are annoying as f***. Not because of your politics, but your style. I think all of the political spectrum could agree.
You are so great!
4 under 30 for 10km in pouring rain and heavy winds.
Dana Point
Someone must have done poorly in the Turkey Trot or they have nothing to be thankful for. I suspect the latter, for it is the entitled generation that knows not gratitude or truth.

44:30 5k after getting hit by a car last week. Had to jog slowly with my mom while she power walked.

48 degrees, windy, heavy rain.
Top 3 broke 30 minutes.
I heard your race flooded the timing mats?
64 and 1/2; 19:55 for 5K; happy with result; 1st over 50 earned me a 12 lb. frozen turkey, have won pies in the past, but never a bird.
Won a 5 miler in 24:52.
That is an impressively fast 10K race. I will have to sign up for it sometime as it is local to me.
Anyone have results from the Berwick Run for the Diamonds?
Went for a 90 minute trail run
It’s was quiet
Beautiful views
It was free
Burned a ton more calories than a 5k
This all really helped when I started to drink later in order to cope with being around relatives
I posted this in the main thread, but I'll repost it here...
LetsRun, have I got a turkey trot story for you...
Background: I've won the local turkey trot 3 of the last 4 years, outkicked last year. Always times in the mid 15s. This fall I've dropped some big PRs, consistently under 15 even on hilly courses and a 14:26 PR and a 30:33 10K PR on a hilly course earlier this month. I was finally READY to take down the 15:02 course record and return to the top of the podium of turkey trot glory here in Bergen County.
Starting line: 2200ish people, 45 degrees, and a STRONG headwind on the uphill start. I tucked in behind the lead pack for the first third of a mile, then took the lead and started pushing on the downhill. Almost immediately as I had opened up a 10 yard lead, a car pulls out of their driveway on my right. The lead car stops to tell them to stop and then the car that was originally slowly pulling out ACCELERATED as I was directly in front of it. Yes, I was hit by a car not even a half mile into my quest for Turkey Trot glory.
The impact actually wasn't much, but the shock of it all caused me to lose my footing and fall to the ground. I supermanned across the pavement and lost a lot of skin on my hands, right elbow, right leg, and a really bad spot on my right hip. I laid there in pain for a few seconds, also in a bit of shock, before getting myself up. The lead pack passed me at this point. I tried to get back up to sub 4:40 pace, with blood dribbling down my side, but just couldn't do it. I did manage to catch the lead pack though.
A few of them asked if I was okay, to which I responded "not really, but I'm not dropping out of this" and continued on. It turned into a two man race as we went through mile 1 in 5:00. I was in a lot of pain and even my 10K pace from a few weeks prior was out of the question. Only one thing mattered now, and that was the win. I sat for another half mile before making my move. I opened up a 30 yard lead from 1.5 miles to the last hill at 2.8. At this point I was struggling, but I did hang on to break the tape in 15:43 to the runner-up's 15:47.
The course record is still not mine, but turkey trot glory and the gold winged foot trophy is. I went to the EMS building immediately after to get wrapped up and file a police report. All in all, I hope you enjoyed my recap and had a great Thanksgiving, letsrunners.
First semester out of college. Ran 2 minutes slower than my 5k PR from earlier this year, and I was feeling it.
Nice recap.

ran a 4.5 mile race @ 5:33 pace. 5k split was 17:15. Could I have broken 17 in cross country. The course was flat and I felt okay. I have struggled with multiple injuries. Previous best time was 17:38.
Congratulations, and quite a story. Hope you or someone else provided enough details to ID car and driver that mowed you down.
