So where did the former Saint Francis coach go then? Haven’t seen anything posted, and wasn’t hired at Penn.
I would not assume that she's not coming to Penn. Penn still needs a coach for its' female sprinters and male/female hurdlers. Her background seems to cover those events perfectly.
Yes it is confirmed, Manteo Mitchell will take over as Sprints/Hurdles Coach at Western Carolina. Formal announcement will come this week.

Do they have two different postings?
Florida State has a great volunteer assistant opportunity, Braman was a speaker at convention a couple of years ago and I really liked it.
Can someone fill me in here, how does fsu have 5+ "operations assistants"/ distance coaches - that don't count towards their 6 paid positions. pretty obvious these are just full time coaches ??

It's probably not that big of a deal. They probably have an operations assistant per event group and I don't know how large the women's distance squad is but maybe that's why there are two. They are allowed to hold a stopwatch at practice. Don't see anything wrong with it. Probably don't have the funding for a full-time ops person so they have someone to manage that for each coach. It sounds a little "extra" but I don't see how this is illegal in any way.
Ops directors are allowed to travel and attend meets so maybe that's why some of you think they are "coaching." This isn't new news.
They definitely have the funding for a few full time DoO's. Their main guy is Dave Beachum. Used to be the head cross country coach at Southern Illinois and Bradley before that. I believe even some of the other "ops interns" or whatever they call them are paid. It's gray area as most track/xc ops people are (most of them do more than the "job description")...but within the rules for programs that want to be good and have the right compliance person.
