Tuohy's 17:02 at Bowdoin Park today was rated 170.
Her best of the year and higher than her 167 at NXN last year.
Looks like she is peaking right on schedule.

This is exactly right.
Amazingly N Rockland was 2nd today at Feds, and has a chance for third at NXN NY. These are great results for the team, and lifetime memories for the teammates. One of the reasons Tuohy is so beloved in the NY scene is she honors team and tradition. When she was just a promising team member as an 8th and 9th grader, she had great jr and sr leadership on her team...and now she (and co-captain Morales) works to provide that for her younger teammates. Despite the hype, she's very old school. She just shows up and runs. (same goes for years of performances on the North Rockland DMR and other relay teams!)
By the way, when North Rockland ran at Holmdel last year, that was another classy move not lost on the NJ xc fan base.
...and meanwhile back on the hype train, Tuohy now has the 5 fastest times ever at Bowdoin Park, and by year end will have 7 of the top 10. The other 3 - Blood, Chmiel, and Cuffe - pretty good company.
I saw a few snippets of todays race....she looked good. And at the end of the race she still wasn't sprinting to the finish and had a full minute gap, so very impressive to get a 170 rating if thats what it came out to.
I think I will go out on a line and say that Tuohy may just be the favorite!! You heard it here first!
Indeed, she is getting closer to the times that she ran as a soph (16:52 and 17:01) on that course. Happy to see that her peak was not in October.
I can’t see another girl staying close to her at NXN.

The 17:01 as a sophomore was a fairly easy run for her, saving her effort for the NXN the next week. The 17:02 yesterday may have been similar. Not counting of course(!), but she has the 6 fastest times on the course now; 2017 and 2018 sectionals, 2017 and 2019 Federation, 2017 and 2018 NXR. The speed ratings for all of these times are pretty consistent with each other, so you can't say there is anything suspicious about the 170.
it can be difficult to judge hard or easy effort just by looking at the runners, but she looked like she was putting in a pretty good effort yesterday. Of course that is just from getting a look at 5 or 6 different points of the race.
She would have been 50th on the boy side this year, immediately behind Christopher Paxis who has a 4:24 PB over 1600m. The last time that the federation champ was held (2017), she ranked 42nd on the boy side (16:52).

In 2017, she was right behind Maazin Ahmed, who now runs for Georgetown. Conclusion is that you can run in Div 1 if you are faster than Tuohy in HS.
