And secondly, do you have any actual direct evidence that any untoward activity has occurred within the city limits with the said parties involved?
In terms of ethical expectation or requirement, where contraventions occur isn't really significant.
Those AC rules linked. Regarding Coach-Athlete relationships. The rules seem pretty darn clear.
But who do these AC rules apply to?
Members of the Coaching Association of Canada? Clubs and Coaches registered as members of Provincial Athletics organizations?
Some problematic history for DST goes back to 2006 - is this a case of applying current rules to past behavior? When did posted AC rules come into effect?
As a past, registered coach trained in Canada, I do not recall rules specifically prohibiting adult Coach-Athlete relationships.
While often viewed with disdain, I can think of many examples of adult Coach-Athlete relationships which were publicly known and incurred no official consequence.
Certainly, the sniff test for these is not the same for professional/club coaches vs. those working in educational settings.
IMHO, whether expressly prohibited or not, there was never any point in time when it was OK for a HS/College/University coach to be physical or intimate with any athlete related to their program/conference etc. (even at another institution).
