who runs trackie , and why are they in DST camp?
Guelph is nothing compared to me. They suck
It’s not the Trackie owners... its the mods on the forum... try to make a UG thread... it won’t appear
It could also be that the any potential victims don't want to deal with the poop storm that will come if any allegations are made public on a internet forum. People don't necessarily have a right to know what is happening or what happened.
What's going on in Guelph?

It's going up to 41-42F and some of the 2 inches of ice on the sidewalks may melt, resulting in less injuries, and faster training paces.
The owner of Trackie is Adam Stacey and he makes $ off meet and club registrations. He doesn’t want to lose business because of the message board. He was instructed not to let anyone post about DST/Guelph from Speed River.

The precedent is fairly clear on defamatory content on moderated forums. It's not a risk I'd want to take, as damages on these things can run up pretty high.
Yes, the US Supreme Court often puts gag orders on Canadians.
That’s about as fishy as everything else about this situation.

This is common law, and Canadian courts have shown to be open to using good foreign (American) precedent in the past...especially when similar cases haven't been tried up here.
We're not talking about "gag orders" (it sounds like an informal cease and desist has already been delivered)...we're talking about damage payouts. If I'm Adam, it's not worth the risk.
That’s not suspicious, the first LRC thread discussing what we can’t discuss.

Basically, a 2016 Guelph thread compared it to NOP (before that was adjudicated) & indicated there was a similar sex scandal involving Ottawa Lions running club (where it seems there was no prosecution of anyone, even though the Board of Directors resigned).
Since the Brits at BBC & Guardian were the main investigators of NOP, I suppose it’s down to someone blowing the whistle or foreign rivals, if anything is to be done.
As already mentioned, there have been rumours circulating about Speed River/University of Guelph for over a decade. The threads that have been posted this decade involved back room deals with the national governing body Athletics Canada, suspect provincial carding grants from Athletics Ontario, national team selection done without transparency, poor sportsmanship at the Ontario university track championships, and so on.
The overall pattern of behaviour exhibited between all of this was pretty clear, win at all costs what's good for Speed River/U of Guelph is most important, which keep in mind DST was a paid Athletics Canada National Endurance Coordinator during some of this time, though his impact outside of Speed River/U of Guelph was.......nothing.
Somehow athletes and others stood by this coach and defended him publicly during these threads and now we have to wonder how much more they knew about his behaviour when they defended him on ethical matters. Anyone involved with Speed River/U of Guelph long term is looking bad right now; hopefully they were involved in speaking up, leading to DST's removal, and this speaking up will be made public at the appropriate time in the future so they are not painted with the same brush.
Partial list of national class athletes that have bolted (and many have spoken up in blogs and with veiled innuendo):
-Rob Watson
-Evan Esselink
-Trevor Haufbauer
-Genevieve Lalonde
-Jenna Westaway
-Olivia Romaniw
-Lindsay Carson
-Megan Brown
-Connor Black (supposedly bullied when he left)
Not to mention Speed River Track Club athletes who have taken US Scholarships and were ostracized or kicked out of the club after that decision--that list is long.
Too much power in that club/ school, and with their hands on decisions for national teams, no one likes to talk. And it seems Trackie .ca is a censorship machine run by Guelph's interests. When dirt on U of T or Trinity Western came out there were huge debates....but nothing with Guelph.

Don't get carried away with the trackie censorship innuendo. Years ago Adam made it clear to me that all it takes is someone directly contacting and asking for a thread to be shut down; we were discussing a pretty minor topic at the time that got closed. All I would read into it is that someone contacted Trackie to censor this topic.
If anything official enters the public arena, I'd guess that would be allowed to stay up, as was the case when info about Freake became public.
SW
what you seem to be describing is Trackie's censorship policy which has rendered it useless as a forum to discuss and share information on one of the most important issues in recent Athletics history in Canada. And, it is does seem to be selective application of the policy. The Lions discussion was in-depth and informative (as it should be).
Let'sRun (through this thread) is doing much better --once again, Canadians need to look south for something that should be available through something like Trackie
So , basically censorship. A call from, say DST or anyone associated with Guelph, gets a thread shut down is basically what most would call--hiding from the truth.
We're probably going to see the same pattern as with David Freake threads, locked or deleted when rumour based because someone asked to censor, then a new thread is allowed when based on an official statement or media article.
So who is going to get the ball rolling. I hear a few in the running media are trying to get an article together, but likely need athletes or coaches willing to speak up. Which Canadians are going to speak up?
Where are the intrepid journalists over at “the voice of the Canadian Running community” otherwise known as Canadian Running Magazine?
