I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
He is a once in a lifetime talent, from head to toe. I really wish I had paid attention to distance running news back when he was in high school. It would have been one exciting journey to witness.

On the men's side? unlikely.
On the women's side? She has a name, and it's Katelyn Tuohy
Dibaba had a son who is American born. So yes!?
Paul Chelimo?
Somebody will come along, they always do but Galen certainly was/is special. I know nothing about anything, so won't speculate as others might, however I will say that staying relatively injury free for a long time while improving gradually seem to bar the key in this case, I feel the same can be said for Bernard Lagat.
Josh Methner
that should read '..be the key...
Have you read the "The year is 2027..." thread?

Most likely not.
Bluntly speaking, this country is bad when it comes to distance running.
Craig Lutz?

I think we will. Probably good to remember that Rupp didn't even win FLN his senior year (didn't even win his regional, either). That was with all Salazar had to offer coming to him from a young age. There have been a number of individuals as talented or more talented than Rupp to go through the HS system in the last decade or so, but he has been the only one to pair his talent with durability and smart coaching (and, who knows, maybe some cheating?).
Somebody from this HS class--Sprout, Young, Daschbach, Culpepper, Methner, Schoppe, et al--has a really solid chance of being that good. Hell, Paul Chelimo is arguably already as good, and Woody Kincaid is finally realizing all his talent as well. I think there are a number of guys that could put it all together.
If King Ches gets his citizenship, that's your guy right there.

This.
It's shameful that in a country the size of yours 'a once in a lifetime talent' is Galen Rupp.
Um, Bernard Lagat is way better than Rupp. Double WC.
There are already lots of pros who never race.
There will always come someone better. And next time needs to be coached by me .....the CLEAN coach! :)
Absolutely!
The sooner Rupps records are gone and he/AlSal are flushed down the memory hole the better.
Get over it fanboys.
Already here. His name is Grant Fisher. When he moves up expect to see 26:40/59:15/2:04
Daniel Skandera.
Will we ever witness an American named Galen Rupp race again?

Some of you really are not very bright. Galen is #8 on the U.S. 5000m list, so how is it that you question whether we will ever witness an American runner of his caliber again? Galen was good but he was not so good as to not be replicated.
