Yes sir. I recall running my 1925 local turkey trot in 10 feet of snow uphill all 3miles. Would today’s pampered, spoiled runners do the same? Never. This is part of a larger issue plaguing our society that is the demasculinization of men. To think USMA is running in this race too. Our own soldiers can’t withstand a bit of cold and a few flakes of snow. SAD! Back in high school, as the 18min 5k guy I was (not to brag or anything, I made the state meet once as an individual and once as a team where we took 9th), I used to cross train by swimming (while rehabbing my shin splints) in Lake Erie during the Christmas break. Even on Christmas Day while my family was snuggled up by the fire opening presents, I was out there on the quest for sun-18. BE MEN!
