No, perhaps they're saying coaches shouldn't treat anyone - male OR female- callously. It's just that women tend to be the ones who speak out when they're maltreated. Why is that? Maybe women have a greater sense of compassion/respect for others (and themselves). Maybe men should too.
This doesn't even have to go to being treated fairly or as other posts have said weeding out the whiners.
Salazar just isn't a good coach. His overall solution was to lose weight (in addition to PEDS), an obvious and not insightful out. With no experience coaching high school or college athletes and dealing with their particular issues, he also had no business coaching children that also includes Rupp.
“I grew from five feet and 90 pounds in late ’73 to 5’6″ and 115 by the beginning of ’75…I didn’t know what to do with all this body I had. I mean in my running. My stride changed. My center of gravity changed. The stresses were different. I was ripe to get hurt.” - Mary Decker,
https://chasingzatopek.wordpress.com/I can't imagine Salazar knows how to deal with these legitimate coaching challenges and mostly likely can't be bothered.
