No matter how you slice it, Ken Goe is not a journalist who merits respect. Surely he must understand this.
I know many on here think I'm a Salazar hater but I have to stand up for Goe as a journalist here.
There was nothing wrong with Goe's article. The newsworthy part of the article is Salazar is responding to the fat-shaming allegations. Goe mentioned that Kara Goucher, Amy Yoder Begley and Jackie Areson have all come to Cain's "defense on social media and criticized Salazar’s training methods." He then provided a couple more paragraphs on what they've said.
That's way more of both sides than what the original NY Times story and video had. The NY Times had Cain speaking for 6.5 minutes and then included a single sentence about how Salazar had denied the allegations. "In an email, Alberto Salazar denied many of Mary Cain's claims, and said he had supported her health and welfare."
What did he specifically deny and what did he say? We have no idea as they didn't tell us.
It blows my mind how people can't objectively look at things. If you are demanding that Goe re-interview everyone else who has already shared their views on instagram/twitter then you should at least be demanding that the NY Times specifically say what aspects Salazar denied.
