The gist of your posts on this thread indicates that you want to brag about your ability to withstand getting to .28 without passing out. I don't think most posters on this thread are pulling for you to be sentenced lightly.

Breathe, OP. It's not The End of the F***ing World. Laws are put in place to punish people. You got caught and now you're facing punishment. But as long as you don't drive as drunk as .28 again, and maybe plan your route with an Uber, you're fine.

I explicitly said I'm an alcoholic and I'm not being arrogant or trying to seem cool. If I could go out like most ppl and have a few drinks and a good time, I would. And I wish I could, but I can't. So I'm not sure what you're getting at...

Did the cop write you a ticket for a taillight being out? If not, challenge the reason for the stop. Request the recording and transcript of his radio call and look for any mention of his reason for stopping you. Also read his report and notes for mention of it. If his sole reason for pulling you over was your taillight, and he never handled that issue, you could luck out. When I was in a police academy they preached when pulling someone over leads to something more serious, to make sure you document and ticket the original offense to keep the validity of the traffic stop.

And there’s also the life long lesson of don’t break the law when you are breaking the law. So if you’re driving drunk, don’t speed, run red lights or stop signs, have broken taillights, etc.

First step is to stop trolling here. You didn't blow a .28.

~22 years ago I got a DUI, and I was over .2 as well. I left a party feeling pretty good, but realized about halfway home that I was in no condition to drive. Pulled over and went to sleep. Cop woke me up, keys were still ignition, I got the DUI. I considered fighting it, but I had a pattern of problem drinking and decided to take the penalty, quit drinking, and start a new chapter in my life. I haven't had a drink since that night, and I never will. I drank because I thought I was unhappy, but after quitting, I realized it was the alcohol that was making me unhappy. Good luck.

What's next? Buy a 10 speed with a good solid set of handle bars that will support the 2 cases of beer you will be transporting on them daily. Enjoy the added fitness the bike will bring you.

You should never drive again! You should never drink again! I can't believe that you casually put innocent people's lives at risk and you are concerned about the legal ramifications. You massively disrespected and endangered everyone around you.

Legally, what should you do? Maybe hope that your driver's license is suspended forever. That won't stop you from driving though. Maybe hope for that you are in an accident that prevents you from ever driving again but luckily causes no harm to any innocent bystander.

Get a good lawyer. Hope you have $20k to pay for the good lawyer. Hope they have the skills to keep you out of jail.

Well you get a chance to recalibrate what's important to you. That still will require a bit of suffering from the state. Fines, license revocation, increased insurance, mandatory classes and a few days in the slammer. You'll get through it. Tough way to learn a lesson but it could be worse. Time for a change.

Your lawyer(more money), if you have one, can walk you through the process. I'm not sure what it's like now but I got one a long time ago. Basically a lawyer really didn't make a difference. It was a defined process for first time offenders with my record being expunged at some point later. Your jurisdiction may differ.
