lol that is such a short course...no one is running well under 15 mins with a 2 mile PR in the 9:20s...
you have to go through 3200 in 9:36 to run 15 flat, a bunch of these guys ran faster than that.
you're telling me that suddenly like 10 guys who are pretty good high school runners suddenly all run their track 2 mile PR in a 5k on the same day?
The course was probably 10-15 seconds short (maybe), but why are we acting like a "9:20" runner ran well below 15?
There was a total of 11 sub 15:00 boys in all of the races.
1 has ran 8:52 for 3200m in a race he won (TX State meet, in TX weather)
1 has ran 8:47 for 2-miles, and finished 2nd and 3rd at FLNationals
1 ran 9:06 for 3200m as a sophomore last year
4 have run around 9:10-9:13ish for 3200m
1 has a PR of 9:21 (14:55)
1 has a PR of 9:23 (14:59)
1 has a PR of 9:20 (14:57)
The slowest PR for the sub 15'ers was a 9:33 runner (Evan Caswell). He ran 14:26 @ Woodbridge.
Also, for comparisons:
@ Nike Desert Twilight Festival (September 27th) vs Texas State meet (November 9th)
Ryan Cardinal 15:03.18 // 14:45 @ TX State
Elias Perez 15:08.69 // 15:03 @ TX State
Edwin Gomez 15:08 // 15:06 @ TX State
Juan Olmos El Paso Eastwood 15:19 // 15:01 @ TX State
Ethan Hammer 15:20 // 14:50 @ TX State
