Interestingly, Methner's speed rating for this incredible record is slightly lower than Holland and Schoppe from this past weekend:
Methner's 13:49, winning by 26 seconds and breaking Virgin's record is just 197.37
Ryan Schoppe's 14:10 in Texas was worth 199.33
In Oregon, Evan Holland ran 14:30 on a new course, winning by 32 seconds, worth 198.87, just behind Schoppe
In California, Nico Young's 14:04, won by 18 seconds, at League finals was 196.61
His brother Lex Young was a minute back, among the best freshman nationwide at 176.56.
At New England's a sophomore, Gavin Sherry, ran what might be the top soph rating this year, 193.00 (15:30, winning by 4 seconds).
Evan Jenkins in Washington, another soph, ran 186, and winning his own race, soph Isaac Teeples, ran 185.97.
