Yea Lauren Fleshman’s small group in Bend will embrace her with open arms.
With the positive press she's getting- ANYONE would want to sign her and make Nike look bad.
I teach seniors. The day after the story broke, one girl brought it up in class. 18 kids who had never heard of her consider her a hero- even the boys.
No pictures, nothing like that, just discussion of the situation with Nike.
18 x 18 year olds who think Nike was wrong and Cain is a hero for speaking out.

She hasn't run well for several years now so I doubt if she could find a sponser.
Why is she radioactive?

Positive press? She admitted to cutting herself as a reaction to the stress of life as a professional runner.
No other NOP athletes have had that response to Salazar, so clearly Cain is atypical when it comes to pro runners. I think that’s what the OP meant by radioactive. There’s a good chance things would turn out exactly the same for her with whatever coaching situation she has next, and that would be detrimental to a sponsor.

As a fellow educator, just based on the information you provided, this is pretty irresponsible classroom management. Don’t you teach these kids that they need primary sources in order to form strong opinions on a topic? One girl bringing up a topic, which most certainly will carry strong bias, is not a sound way to have intelligent debate.
Teachers like you really grind my gears.
It's unconscionable that Salazar treated a teenage girl away from home for the first time that way. Pressuring any female distance runner to lose weight is flat out wrong and him doing so with Cain was witnessed by other runner runners. The majority of posters on LR think Salazar is a jerk so why does Cain saying so publically make her a villian?
If her next coach is a decent human being, there won't be any problems. She comes across as a nice, personable young woman and any coach would be glad to have her.

It’s manipulative to call her a “teenage girl away from home for the first time.” She was a world class athlete who chose to forego college to train to be an Olympian. That is a unique situation and shouldn’t be equated with just a common teenage girl.
I agree that she seems like a nice, personable young woman. However, as someone who has coached female runner before, a history of possible eating disorders and self harm are red flags.
Not unconscionable. Lots of top college programs have a system where the girls become extremely thin.
It is not good for them, sure. It is really nothing new in this world.
She tried and she failed and so she blames her coach. That's an old story. It also seems like after the AlSal ban (she wanted back into NOP 6 months ago) she is trying to distance herself from NOP. I wonder why that would be?
She comes across like an immature prima donna. She wanted to be the fastest in the world but she couldn't handle the sacrifices it takes to be that. World class athletes put themselves through much more pressure than an average person would to achieve their goals, but since she was born with natural talent she was shocked and out of her element when she had to work to achieve and maintain the next level. Salazar wasn't unconscionable., He was her professional running coach and did what he thought was necessary to build her into the world class athlete that she strove to be. He wasn't her parent. It was a business relationship and nothing more than that. By her own choice she went up into the big leagues, she made some money and then she crashed and burned.
