When it comes to AlSal Goe definitely swings all ways, pitching, catching... and swallowing.
Uh, it might be time to lay off the porn, man. Serious.

It’s notable that he says he never shamed her into maintaining an “unhealthy weight”. He may indeed have shamed her that she should be the 114 lbs as Mary claimed, but he considers it a healthy weight for her.
Real odd considering 114 ibs for her height is underweight.
Targeting a specific number for weight is unhealthy. Full stop.

Seriously, is it underweight? What is the rule of thumb for women? For male marathoners it is 2 lbs. for each inch of
height. Example: the ideal weight for a male marathoner who is 5'10" would be 140 lbs.... (2x 70 inches height = 140)
I guess milers and 5k and 10k males can go with a little more weight.
So, what is Mary's height ---- and what is the formula? Always a guide, never a rule, something to shoot for but should not
cause bad health.........
Mate she literally didn't have her period for 3 years, that's all the signs you need to know that she was underweight or at the very least reaching that weight via unhealthy methods.

She's what? 5'7, probably shouldn't be below 120 ibs. Though better to go by body fat percentage than weight.

67 inches x 2 = 114 . Alberto wins this round.

Just checked my calculator, 67x2=132. 114/2=57 or 4'9

You're right. My apology. So, Mary would win that round
but perhaps the formula is different for women?
Mary is talking about weight but what kind of training was she doing? Everybody should get to proper
weight --- over a year or more ---- which reduces the pressure.
However, were they doing Lydiard, Daniels, Tinman
stuff or Alberto stuff whatever that is?
P.S......Her training should have been her main focus which should get you to proper weight anyway.
Lydiard, 100 miles per week, would get a person to proper weight over time, I'm sure.

5'7'' and 114lbs is a BMI of 17.9
So yes, underweight (anything below 18.5 BMI is)
No wonder she was stress fracture city.
Do we know how much she weighed when she ran her best? She was one of the best in the world when she was making the finals at the world champs and running 4:04. Was this a huge difference from the 114, or was she already pretty close to that already when she was running well. USATF website had her listed at 111. How was she running at 111?

My best running weight was 53.5kg, @1.67m
That is what??? 118lb and 5'6" ?
Wasn't trying to attract chicks with my pecs, but wasn't underweight.
...oh, and highest running fit weight ever in life has been 130lb
What is wrong with society when we are so used to fat people, that there seems to be something wrong with being skinny, but you are not allowed to say a certain weight is too fat?
The obesity bar is very slack, yet the majority of people are.

For an elite distance runner? It is not, and it is it both highly deceptive and manipulative to claim that it is underweight.
114 at 5' 7" is pretty low. I think it really depends on the build. For Cain and her build that's underweight I would say.
Not really for an elite runner. That sounds in the ballpark. focusing on a single number is stupid since people's weight varies day to day. But that number seems in a reasonable range.
Elite distance runners don't follow the same weight patterns as the rest of the world.
AlSal is the same since the '70s. It takes some decades to figure it out. Others will never know.
This does sound a bit like #MeToo mentality from Mary Cain.
Guess Salazar should feel lucky she hasn't accused him of touching her.
I noticed that too, what seemed like a contradiction within 6 mins. So googled who NOP calls their sport psych, Darren Treasure, and every bio cites him as a sport consultant. When sport psych is mentioned they say he is a sport psychology consultant. Sometimes an associate professor somewhere, so no, I don't think he is a real sports psychologist.
When Salazar said one of his female athletes at worlds had too big a butt, Darren Treasure was said to say maybe just suggest good examples to her of someone lean, like Jenny Simpson (who had already won Worlds). And Salazar said, no, her butt's too big too.
He sounds better than Salazar who has issues and obsessions and should've learned from running his own body and career into the ground, but def seems more like part of his personal circle than an independent medical professional and advocate for an athlete.
To Mary Cain ; .. Now , get you the clean doping hater Coach JS to reach the running times of your dreams! Just low mileage and fast improvement with a great training system that also prevents against develop eating disorders. He just use to say that your body and running takes care of the right weight in a natural way, nothing to bother .He thinks the running industry hushes this up with the importance of the diet to the wrong heights.Get yourself a great Christmas present- Get JS to coach you!
-Santa Claus- ))
We can just as intelligent people agree that Salazar hadn't get banned four years based on vague accusations....!?
Of course it's a total proven excess of both medical and other irregularities.
