Editor’s Notes: For the latest iteration of the Nike React family, the Infinity Run focuses on reducing injury while running. Nike’s goal is to reach a future “where no runner gets injured and every runner gets faster.” The React Infinity Run is the starting point.
The new running shoe includes 24 percent more react cushioning for optimal impact absorption, as well as a wider sole for more stability and motion control while running. Nike burrowed inspiration from their coveted VaporFly design to create more fluid transition in the Infinity Run. The rocker geometry allows for smoother runner.
Nike partnered with the British Columbia Sports Medicine Research Foundation (BCSMRF) for an external study of the shoe and its performance. Over a 12 week period, BCSMRF tested the new Nike React Infinity Run on 226 runners who ran a total of 60,000 miles. In result, the tests showed that the Nike React Infinity had a 52 percent lower injury rate than our motion control shoe with runners confirming that they felt less pain in their knees and feet.
The Nike React Infinity Run is dropping in January 2020 for $160. Take a closer look at the running shoe in the gallery above.
