it's just dudes misrepresenting the article
I read the article, but I honestly don't get it unless it's just a piece for a woman venting her frustrations.
Some examples of why I'm confused:
-She says she doesn't want unwelcome comments, but then she concludes by saying I should be looking out for her and joining the conversation. If I'm running behind her, scanning the area for bad guys, wouldn't I just be another skeezy Steve she'd be worried about? If I just throw in some unsolicited conversation about running while female, is that going to get me the sideways look? Or am I only supposed to talk to women I know? Ever? Just while running? Can I greet you as we pass?
-Why does she get a pass for lusting after a dude running by her in the opening paragraph? Can I sit on my front porch and ogle her as she goes by or is that different somehow?
-Women kill dudes all the time. I think it's fair for a guy to be concerned anytime an attractive woman he doesn't know starts a spontaneous conversation with him.
