This is a cool idea. The two men’s teams are currently ranked 6th and 7th nationally and were separated by 3 points at Oshkosh. Because I’m not a student at UChicago I have a lot of free time and took a look at how this would have looked at the Kollege Town meet three weeks ago.
1. Drew Hoffman Wartburg 26:12
2. Max Hill Chicago 26:14
3. Chris Collet Wartburg 26:16
4. Val Figueira Chicago 26:18
5. Xander Hastings Chicago 26:24
6. Tim Koenning Chicago 26:24
7. Jay Mixdorg Wartburg 26:27
8. Jordan Olson Chicago 26:37
9. Matt Heinzman Wartburg 26:43
10. Will Norton Chicago 26:44
11. Jordan Yessak Wartburg 26:47
12. Conor Sapp Wartburg 26:48
13. Wille Shine Chicago 26:56
14. Alec Ille Wartburg 27:03
Assuming this is scored like a CC meet Chicago comes out on top 25 to 30.
Much more lopsided on the women’s side with Chicago scoring 15 points.
Other teams should look at this and get involved in the future for the athletes on their teams not headed to the NCAAs.
