I'm quite pleased. I came back from 5 weeks off with an upper hamstring tear and literally getting the okay to run on the Tuesday before the race. Talk about under-preparedness.
Thankfully the summer of 100 mile weeks kept me in great shape, but the lack of training at the end killed me. My quads couldn't handle it and I slowed to a crawl.
1:22 half
1:59 30k
2:55 total time and that 'glorious' pretty much auto BQ for my age group should I choose to run in 2021.
The start was okay as I was with a few buddies. Just chatted for hours. Made the time fly. Support/cheering on the course was fantastic, which really got me through my lack of fitness until I was toast. Weather was perfect.
