Des is almost running at her HM pace
Des is almost running at her HM pace
Is it just me or are these new shoes promoting major heel striking? They are so bulky. Especially Kitata and Desisa.
Desi now moving away. Up by 14 seconds! Running her own race as usual? Maybe she figured with the weather and current conditioning, she could drop a 2:23 flat and is going to run that pace regardless of what the others are doing.

Another Men's wheelchair crazy arse finish coming up!!!
Who cares? Go back to the women or men's elite!
It's actually not too bad in New York. The wheelchair races start so early that they finish before the runners are even at 20K. So we don't need to watch them during the second half of the interesting races.

Lelisa was always a heel striker
Des increasing her lead to 18 sec
debu?
Switched to the FB stream, much more stable than that horrible Eurosport 2 stream but the definition isn't the best, it's actually hard to recognize runners :-(
Desi by 13 seconds at 11 miles in. Taylor and Hall just 5 seconds off the back of chase pack. Next 5 US women are still maintaining at 20 seconds back of chasers.
Ha are those legal?

it stops a lot, but you can just press play again each time, annoying though

Stfu
Anybody knows on what pace Desi is atm? Is she just running her usual pace and the rest of the field are dragging their feet?
Schar with 9th straight Major win. Kipchogesque!
Always fascinates me how different Kenyan/Ethiopian, male/female running forms are from each other and the rest of the world.
Desisa DNFed
How many minutes lead does Des need to beat Keitany by the half? I’d say she needs a 2 to 3 min lead.
TLDR Keitany will win
Desisa has dropped out at 7 miles. Running NYC just 28 days after Worlds was always going to be a big ask, and he didn't look great early today.
Desi with another mile to go until 1/2 way mark. Will be on or about a high 2:22 pace. Running her own race as usual.
