Like it or not, that's what it is.
For example...the school has at least 4 basketball teams. One houses their recruited athletes (from all over the world) and is pretty good in beating up on most non-Prep schools in Florida. The rest of the teams range from teams which would be be fairly competitive in a few Florida districts to teams which would be in the lower half of most Florida districts. Parents are paying $90,000 to fund little Johnny and Janey to not have any more chance of "making it" over any other school which charges no tuition.
The football team is said to be really good this year. I have no idea about XC but it's absurd to send a kid to IMG at that price as a track athlete when it is highly unlikely to be any better than a public school or less costly private school.
