It's just as much about precision and geometry as it is phsyics. The point of impact and its efficiency is important.
But if you learn how to do this too well people like me will find you.
Depends on where you hit the other person and how flush. A punch connecting to the right spot on the chin doesn't have to thrown as hard as one to other places of the head to cause a knockout.
Lightly hit yourself in different places on your head and when get the right spot just to the side of the chin you will know the sport for sure. This will be the spot you will want connect with on your opponent.
Depends on their chin.

I never fight, not even once, but from what I've gleaned over the years, I know at least three spots on the body where a clean hard punch can almost reliably kill you (and they're all considerably above the waist). But I'm no tgoi g to mention them here. Peace and love, yo.
We see professional M.M.A. fighters and professional boxers getting knocked out then getting up a short time later and walk out of the ring. Read police reports. In PUBs, saloons, dive bars and night clubs, individuals get punched in the head and either die or suffer severe permanent brain damage. Do not punch people in the head.
I'm a leaver not a fighter

Correct. I have an uncle who served 20 years for a barfight. Didn't even start the fight, but he knocked the guy out, guy fell, hit his head, died.

That seems a harsh punishment for what seems like manslaughter. The average time for murder is like 23 years.
Some people charged with murder have a family willing to spend over $100,000 on a good to great attorney. Public defenders are a roll of the dice.

The shot that Ali took from Frazier in the 15th round of their first fight would have killed most people.

Really depends on who you hit and especially where you hit them. If you get them on the chin, temple, or behind the ear, it doesn't necessarily have to be very hard. Some people can take it a little better than others but EVERYONE has that button and when you touch it the lights go out.
Some people who have been knocked out multiple times are more prone to be knock out again. They become chinny (have a glass jaw) but not everyone is like that. Nor is everyone's button in the same spot

That punch actually did kill Ali. it just took a few decades.
Boxing is very technical. Stupid bros throwing wild haymakers don't do a ton of damage. To really connect a powerful shot you need to have a good stance with your foot planted. Otherwise Newton's 3rd law guarantees a lot of the force moves you backwards.
A skilled boxer can KO someone without a ton of effort.

KOs with a punch are a myth. Only happens in movies and fixed "fights". The amount of force needed to KO someone would snap the puncher's whole arm off. It is possible to KO with a kick though. However the kicker's leg bones will turn to dust.
