Wow. Putting lips on a woman sexualizes her? This is just ridiculous.

The flame symbolizes the Olympics.
The woman with sexy lips symbolizes France's tendency to overtly sexualize almost anything.
The lack of eyes symbolizes blindness in France's slow destruction of their nation by its growing Moslem culture and growing socialist movement.
I see it now! It’s a face with no eyes. Creepy.
You people are social climbing idiots. Both the WSJ and the Washington Post are behind a pay wall for a lot of people - but you think you can gain respectability by linking to them anyway.
Totally want to put my dick in that logo!!

Marianne is the female embodiment of the French Republic (France since Napoleon) It's an old thing, and I think it's cool. The logo sucks big time though.

Nice-e-e-e-e-e TEETS! Nice nipples too. Or is that objectifying a bronze statute?

The shape of the face is too broad. Ideally, it would resemble a reversed egg (tapering along lower face).
The face is round like the medals you get for finishing top 3 at the Olympics.
I, for one and possibly only one, like the new logo.
Oh goodness, people are really digging here to be offended by this logo. I am a female and I am not offended by it. In fact, I think it lends to celebrating female athletes at the games. I think this is an example of the whole, "if you look for it, you'll find it" idea. It's a plain symbol of a woman/flame, so how on earth some people have come up with such interpretations that are anti-feminist is beyond me. It's really a stretch to say it's demeaning to women and objectifies their bodies. It doesn't even show a body! Or a face! And those lips don't look "pouty" but that's just my view. Seriously, people are digging for something to be offended by. Maybe men should be offended that they aren't on the logo ? ;)
I agree that the original logo looks better though. Not sure why they felt the need to change it.
I can't make a decision on just that.
I need to see her legs and butt
> France's tendency to overtly sexualize almost anything.
That seems a little over generalized. On the other hand, sexualized imagery seemed more overt for Paris in 1900.
When I first saw it I didn’t notice the lips and thought it looked like the Olympic flame.
Upon a second look, it does sort of resemble the tinder gold logo. But that’s also pretty fing funny so I say go Paris!
“The Olympics, brought to you by tinder gold.”
... the medal needs a moustache.
I do not see a logo of a woman.
I didn't see Marianne at all for a while - I was looking for something else entirely. Anyway, I wish the people involved in complaining about and saying it's objectifying women would save their ammo for a better cause. There are a bujillion legitimately sexist things they could be drawing attention to, and over-reacting to this lame logo undermines their credibility.
the logo should be changed back. the logo is not sexist, that's bs. those offended are IDIOTS!

I see the woman. What I don't see is how we get from "it looks like a woman" to "it sexually objectifies women". What kind of pervert sees anything sexual in that?
USA has a Communist dictator for a President.

+1
I'm still confused what they are talking about.
the gold parts...that's her hair. The lips are the lips. There are no eyes. The whole round thing is her head. The objectivying part is making a pretty woman your sales pitch.
I feel this is inexcusable click-bait, When you promise me a picture of objectified women and all I get for looking is this. I hope they get angry mobs in the streets carrying torches and demanding a re-sketch.
