Last year's juniors were running some blazing times....
Leo Daschbach 4:03
Cole Sprout 4:04
Cruz Culpepper 4:04
Nathan Green 4:06 (sophomore)
Nico Young 4:07
Cole Lindhorst 4:07
Ryan Schoppe 4:07

Daschbach, Young, Holland(3:46 1500m), Sprout, and Culpepper all could do it. It just depends on the race. I foresee a lot of 4:00 and 4:01. Hopefully, they can get in a pro race where they don't have to run alone the last 2 laps.

I think Daschbach has about a 50% chance, Culpepper a 33% chance, and the rest of the guys less than 10% chance. Green has a really good chance of doing it by the time he's done with HS but I don't think he'll do it this year. I don't think Sprout and Young have the speed to do it yet, and I think they'll focus on the 3200/2-mile, maybe try to get into a 5000 to break 14.

Youth are sad sacks these days. Ryun did it by himself-no pros, no VaporFlys, just flats, and crappy track.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaGDIKoh-g8Lindhorst and Shoppe will have each other in 6A of the Texas and Greer will have a shot, but I do not think anybody from Texas hit the accolade. Give me Daschbach and Sprout to break it. Caleb Brown could have a chance to sneak into the sb 4:06 range
and Ryun did a year or two younger than most of these guys
Sprout has a 1:53 800 pr which he could improve, I think 1:52 or faster is the minimum speed required for sub 4.
Young still has 2:06 pr from Sophmore year when he ran 4:23 in the mile and 9:05 in the 3200 which can definitely improve but I don't see a 1:52 from him. I think Sprout has more speed than Young but Young has better endurance and changing gears.

Ok you're going off what looked like a duel meet for him. His coach said in an interview Young ran a 1:53 800m time trial in practice. I would bet he is just as fast and has plenty of speed. Remember not all High School coaches and kids will focus on the mile and breaking 14min for Sprout and Young would most likely be easy.
Definitely call BS on Young running 1:53 in practice lol.
He didn’t run the 1600 at state last year, clearly he has more in him than his 800/1600 PRs indicate, but he likes to focus on the longer stuff.
Just rewatched the Brooks PR video from last year. Daschbach’s form looked terrible. He also had to hurdle a guy and go wide when those 3-5 kids went down during lap 3, and he ran the whole race in lane 2. Hope he has worked on his form a bit, but he has sub 4 in him if he wants it. Culpepper has said his goal is to break 4 so I know he will be trying.
Wait what interview is that? Actually curious

I love these High School threads. Regardless of who said what. I want to know where your knowledge comes from on these kids? Are you speaking with their coaches? Do you know them personally? Are you at their workouts?
It's kind of creepy you THINK you know so much about High School kids and their training .
I will.

It's kind of creepy how the same people call anyone who follows high school running creepy any time there's a thread on the HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.
A lot of us are high school runners or parents of high school runners. Others appreciate high School sports. Butt out.

But most don't pretend to know inside knowledge. It's all lies and creepy. be a fan not a creep!

Does anyone ever think Ryun was on the juice? He han rediculously fast especislly considering the track type and shoes he had to wear.
