I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my second right metatarsal on October 13th, day after a bad race. I was running about 65-70 mpw beforehand, 16:33 5k but had some really bad races around 17:30s and was looking to be in shape to go sub 16 really soon, but then I got a stress fracture. I took a week off of exercise completely (except for core every day) and started water running for 60-80 minutes a day.
Most of my workouts are interval running, with about 25-45 minutes of hard running every pool session. I'm doing these pool sessions once a day after school, in addition to core in the morning. I don't have a heart rate monitor to connect to my watch so I don't know my actual heartrate, just the messed up wrist based one I get after I get out of the water. How much of my fitness do you think I can maintain for about 5 more weeks until I'm healed?
