It will be interesting to see if JJ Clarke and Ricardo Santos can pull any top distance athletes to Stanford. We have been seeing a few athletes announcing their schools to other top programs. Has anyone announced Stanford?

If they care about running fast they won’t go to Stanford. They will only get academic based kids.
If you are passing up a stanford education to run at a school thats not top 20 academically then you might reconsider your long term priorities.
I know that Starcher turned down her full offer to Stanford after the coaching change, there are a few more that were on official visit with her that are turning them down also. He's more interested in building the sprinting side so isn't recruiting distance much at this time. The girls just don't feel the program was going to be going in the right direction over the next few years. Starcher probably made a good decision academically and athletically.
I would be surprised if top running talent wants to for JJ or Ricardo. It is Stanford so they will get some athletes going (maybe). I just don't see the Grant Fisher types going.
very odd for Stanford.
Vin has convinced all of them to sign with Virginia.

Three out of the top 4 distance guys have yet to commit. Where will Nico Young, Cole Sprout and Matt Strangio end up.
Matt Strangio was almost sold on Stanford after his visit last year until the coaching change. He has had trips to Oregon, NAU, and Stanford (and will probably go again there to check out the new team of coaches). He has scheduled trips to Portland and Washington.
The shoe companies are grabbing kids from high school. Most of the top finishers in college will not run professionally or at such a competitive level that they can make a decent living from it. Having a degree from Stanford will be a lot more marketable to get a solid paying job post-college than one from just about every other school except for Virginia. While that may not be the strongest selling point for the absolute best high school recruits - it's a great marketing advantage.
I know Nico Young was visiting Stanford still its on his 5 that he plans to visit. Thomas Boyden and Easton Allred took officials to Stanford last weekend. I know Cole Sprout and Strangio took Unofficials last school year to Stanford but that was before the coaching change. I think Strangio is down to NAU, Oregon and Portland and is gonna announce pretty soon. Cole Sprout has only took 2 officials so far to Colorado and Washington. I say his last 3 visits are Stanford, Oregon and NAU. if he uses all 5. So I think Stanford has a shot at Young, Sprout, Allred and Boyden and potentially Setston Moss too who was top 15 at NXN last year. Moss is down to Stanford, NAU, Bosie State and Gonzaga. So those 5 people.

Interesting take you have.
Those guys above will not go to Stanford.
