The short of it:
- Marathon in one week
- Training did not go well (tired, overworked, not hitting paces or mileage, only two >18 milers)
- Tripped two weeks ago on concrete and hurt my ribcage (and hip, but less seriously). Nothing broken, just bruised but makes it hard to breathe deeply
- DNF'd my last three marathons due to foot injuries happening in last 3 weeks before race so eager to break the streak
I'm not even considering running close to racing pace (which would be around 6:00 / mile for me) so there wouldn't be any glory if I run and finish but considering perhaps running the course at moderate effort to break the bad streak (6:40-7:00).
I feel like i'm 50% prepared for this and that my chances of hurting or slowing down recovering from the rib injury is 75%.
What would you do?
