So “she” shadows every leader and easily gets second to avoid the obvious controversy that winning would invite.
Huh? Whats at work here?
Some sort of controversy?
Jenny Sandoval, the winner, is a decent runner. She had a 16:21PB
I understand that she is a woman and wants to be treated accordingly but what I don't understand is how she can compete against other women knowing she has an unfair advantage.
For me it would be like using PED's. Every achievement and result would come with an empty hollow feeling.

What makes you “understand” that June Eastwood is a woman?

Because she says she is.
That's good enough for me in every aspect of life except sport.
Wait, what?
She's a he? First I heard of this. I don't approve. Does this critter share the showers with "her" teammates?
Like Semenya, only avoiding first place.
A sham, a joke on everyone.
Get with the times...
Stop hanging on to the past
I also wish that the Olympics were like in 1952, when all fifteen 5000m finalists were from Europe (except for one guy from Australia), but that’s not the case anymore.
These are different times.

My Rhodesian Ridgeback identifies as a Kenyan woman and is going to blow 2:14 clean off the map. And he is himself CLEAN...all the way to the bank.
This is clearly what is happening. She is going to run at the Big Sky Championships in two weeks, be top ten, probably second because of the same PR strategy. The conference awards all-conference to the top 10 finishers. I can't imagine how the 11th place finisher won't feel cheated. This is cheating, because the rules are flawed and there is no regulation. This needs to be more of an issue, but no one wants to fight it.

+++ This is absolutely outrageous. She/he is clearly FAR better as a 'woman' than she ever could be [correction - WAS] as a man just a year or so ago (on the lower end of average). That time indicates 'she' is one of the best in her college competition now. IMO, she's also obviously sandbagging, even though she's suddenly a top 'female' runner, just like Semenya. The M-to-F transexulas/trans-whatevers are always huge winners (cycling, running, boxing), but it is NEVER the case with F-toM transitions...wonder why??? BECAUSE BIOLOGY MATTERS!! And our society has gone absolutely f*cking mad to think that this is even in question.
'She' can identify as a frog for all I care, but never, never should 'she' be allowed to run against REAL women. If this continues, I'm going to identify my thoroughbred horse as a female, and it can win the NCAAs easily. WHY can't my bloody horse identify as a female? Because the biology of a horse dictates that it is a f*cking horse; likewise, the biology of a female dictates that she is female.
You hit the nail on the head. The problem is that the inmates are truly running the asylum. The wackos are making rational thinking people believe they are going mad. It’s a sad state of affairs in our once great country.
I was at the race. Looked like June was gonna run the winner down easily in the last 50-75 meters and then just didn't stick. I don't know whether or not she sandbagged or got beat but that is what I saw
How many 2nd place finishes is this now? Are they all by about 2 seconds or less?
Was also at the race. June went back and forth with Sandoval for the whole last mile - every time she took the lead Sandoval easily chased her down and put distance on her. It would seem to me that she got outraced by the end. It’s also worth noting that any teams worth their salt went to Nuttycomb or Pre-Nats making this race much less competitive than many others. Baylands park is at sea level, flat as a pancake, and run almost entirely on a hard-packed dirt path - certainly not normal cross country racing conditions. I think June will be hard pressed to compete with the top girls in her conference - those placing in the top 35 in either the Nuttycomb or Pre-Nats races.
This is June’s first second place finish - she has finished second on her team several times to Beatrix Frissell - who was 9th at the meet. It will be interesting to see how they race in two weeks at their conference meet. Hopefully June’s participation will help the NCAA adopt stricter policies that require athletes to adhere to set numerical limits of testosterone (in accordance with what the IAAF already requires - 5nmol/L)

He isn't competing, he is escorting the winner to the finish. Very chivalrous young man, really.
I hope you realize that "she" is playing it safe and holding back to not seem obviously better than her competition.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
