Here in the UK, Nike allow you to try a pair of their running shoes and then send them back.
Anyway I ordered a pair of the zoom fly flyknit and ran around the block in them (I didn't want to risk damaging them in a longer run).
I could feel the carbon fibre plate "flexing" at the front of the shoe but I felt no benefit from it. The react foam however felt bouncy and good on my legs. This leads me to my question... are the only people to benefit from the carbon fibre plate those who strike off on their toes / run very fast?
I run 7.15 - 8 minute miles on a regular basis; sometimes a bit faster on pack runs with the running club.
I also tried the pegasus turbo 2 and enjoyed them more because the zoomx foam was soft and the shoe was lighter in general. However for the expensive price I was annoyed that the tongue wouldn't sit flat and the sizing was large (the toebox was very roomy).
Anyway, any input would be appreciated.
I also considered the vaporfly... since it still has the zoomx and is lighter still... but they are very expensive for me and I don't want to look like a poser.
The fast men at my club seem to wear nike pegasus or old versions of the nimbus.
Thanks
