Thanks, that’s the men’s. I was just going to write a thread about the women’s which will be on the site tomorrow at the latest. The top 8 among the women last year were under 2.27.25. That is world class deep. Only four events could trump that in 2018. And six of those names could be back. Leave out Desi Jisa who ran 12th at worlds and Defar who dnf’ed at Berlin and the rest could be in again. Add some class in I hope Birhane Dibaba and Azmera Abreha and you have another deep field.
Just researching the three quickest men, two are no chance here. Abshero hasn’t been under 2.07 since 2014, and Bernard Koech is worse.
Women’s is out too, unless I just missed it before: only 3 of the top 8 from last year. Going to be a bit weaker but I want to see what Tigist Girma can do on this fast course.

Edwin Kiptoo, convicted doper is pacing. Great!
Interesting Besu Sado is making her Debut, She is age 23 and has gone under 4 Minutes in the 1500 twice, Very rare to see a YOUNG sub 4 minute 1500 runner, run a Marathon, It would be fun to see Shelby Houlihan or Britain's Laura Muir run one in their off season, but I doubt they will, I think Former World Indoor Record Holder Dick Buerkle ran Marathons in his off season, but it is rare, Hassan did run a European Record in the Half last year and then won World's at 1500.
Thinking about doing a three day, 15 profile thread, but I will very busy with it and the others I am on
Aussiestatman:
Any idea why American mountain runner (and youtuber) Seth DeMoor is not on these lists? He is going for a sub 2:19 and I believe he has elite support (at least his own fluid bottles on the elite tables).
According to above list, he is still banned
Yenew Alimerew is debuting too, should be interesting
No Seth James DeMoor on the list. Sad!

Decided not to, have to draw a line. Just found an excellent list of elites for Ljubljana in nine days. I will focus there after I finish Delhi and Toronto.

It's not Alimerew's debut - he ran Dubai & Amsterdam in 2018. Has yet to set the world on fire in those 2 races so hoping he'll do better this time.

no
Will likely run 2-3 minutes slower than what Parker Stinson ran. Unless...has he also been going to Kenya to "train"?
I say Lenny busts open with a 2:11:44.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
