I do not drink. i used to be a great drinker. Now I believe alcohol to be for idiots. But is does not escape my notice that many of the soldiers and builders of infrastructure, like highways and skyscrapers, and the great minds who filled up the libraries with words, were actually moderate to heavy users of alcohol.
It is my preference when reading a biography of someone great to hear that they did not drink. and I do not know if coe was great. and perhaps tesla didn't drink. but returning to coe. from his book running my life. pg 224 - "after training we'd regularly head of to the local pub for a few beers and a laugh."
Personally I do believe that even one drink can interfere with my next days workout. and I have done some research into the value of having a functioning liver. So I don't drink. But Keith Richards and Lemmy outlived my sober father.
