Those that predicted Droddy and Estrada. Do you realize that they both ran their best marathons of their lifetimes in Chicago and were still the 9th and 10th Americans?
Biwott
Gregg
Faubles
I can predict with confidence that the top 3 finishers will make the Olympic team.
Ward

Rupp
How many guys go sub 2:14:04 at the trials?
I say maybe 5 or 6. Winning time 2:11. No Rupp.
DNFs all around, no team
I think the Atlanta course bodes well for Ward, so I’ll pick him to win.
I’m going with a dark horse and local guy, Wilkerson Given. Another strong runner that should like the course, plus has a neat name.
Third team member I’m going with Stinson. He’s on a roll, as Ritz seems to have got him under control and he obviously has bought into Ritz’ coaching.
Numerous others in the hunt. I’d love to see Ritz but even healthy the Atlanta course will not be kind to him. Fauble yes and a yes to Biwott.
Rupp...he could not start and I couldn’t care less. Dopey doper.
Rupp DNF and goes home DEVASTATED same with all former NOP athletes

On the Atlanta course you might see 2 guys under 2:14, if any. If it were in Chicago under ideal conditions like you had last weekend, you would probably get about 30 male US runners under that time. Comparing times on different courses and different conditions is pointless (much like the sub 2 hour time events).
I change my mind.
David Goggins is gonna win it all.
Dude is such a bada$$.
1. Walmsley 2. Ward, 3. Droddy
1. Rupp
2. L. Korir in his debut.
3. Ward
I would love to see Brigid Kosgei in this race. Would be epic.

I like your assessment. I agree with Given and there was another Atlanta TC guy who ran 2:10/11.
I'm iffy on RUpp- he won't run 2:05 pace, he can just race so he may pull it off.

Is Korir running? If so, your picks are pretty solid.

Solid, you mean picking the fairly obvious?
Those 3 won't be the top 3 as there's 15 guys that could do it on that day...yes 15.
Rupp, if on, is a shoe in. The other 2 spots, not quite. If Rupp is having achilles issues or other issues, it's wide open.
Dathan could win, be 12th, or drop out. Far too many unknowns with this field. Look at Chicago, any of those top 7 guys are capable of top 3 on February 29th.

I don't know if he is running, but he has run a couple of Half Marathons (Best of 59:52) that indicate he could make the team.
