Holy Crap - this thread is EPIC.
Is it the biggest thread?
What're you thinking?!?!? You can't post #s 1999 AND #2000!! Now, no one gets shirts.
Nice job... NOT.
No, it is not the biggest.
I know this is probably somewhere in the thread.
Can somebody either direct me as to wherte, or is able to explain what the heart zones would be for 1/2, 1/4, 3/4 efforts. Thanks
Here it is 2007 and I made the 2007th post!
I'm a 55 year old citizen plodder who will make my first trip to NZ in June. I have long dreamed of trying the Waiatura route run by my boyhood heroes (Snell, Halberg, McGee, et al.) The route shown on the web site for "The Legend" race says it follows 75% of the original route through the Waitekeres. Can any of the NZ runners tell me how "The Legend" route differs from the original Waitarua route? Did Arthur Lydiard have his runners use One Tree Hill in Auckland for hill training? If so, how was One Tree Hill utilized? Thanks.
Hey Lydiardites!
Refresh my faulty and pathetic memory:
Lydiard. Long interval runs. ie 1000s and up.
Discuss with examples, using at least two sides of the paper.
Um....is anybody there?
THE THREAD STILL LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lydiardites Live.Just elsewhere at present !

Are they busy doing long interval runs? Mile repeats?
I think you'll have to cross a superhighway and run through a Walmart.

Probably all sound asleep, if anyone from N.Z. cares to respond.
Hey, great thread.
"it's just a load of eyewash."

Huh?
It's a Lydiard quote about doing intervals. "We all go to the track. I run 440s, you run 220s, the other guy runs 880s. We all create a big oxygen debt and we all improve. It's a lot of eyewash."
