Sad.
He speaks the truth.
Drugs + super shoes = sub-2
I think we can all acknowledge the shoes might help 1' to 1'30" to the old tech of 2016(?) or before shoes. The fact is Kipchoge could probably run 2:02:30 or so with the old shoes. How much is the pacing and perfect time trial worth. Probably not nothing.

I had to mute him on twitter even though I don't follow him because his takes were always popping up on my feed because other people I follow liked them. Now I see them here...

Should we know who Jonathan Marcus is?

I’ve done the same, he either doesn’t know what he’s talking about most of the time or he’s putting up incendiary posts for followers and attention...

Looking through his Twitter feed, Marcus appears to be a really bitter and angry person. What is the backstory on this?
He tweets dumb stuff all the time.
Who's Jonathan Marcos?

I would change it to say "nothing to do with a CHANGE in his training diet or mind." Don't really like JMar but he is right about this. Kipchoge would have broke 2 hours in his last attempt with these new shoes.

The pacing and wind breaking is the biggest factor. Then it's the shoes, then maybe not having to pick up your own fluids. I think the shoes are worth at least 1'30" if not more for some athletes as there is a range. That puts Kipchoge outside Kimetto btw.
He needs to stop eating on his podcast or I'm going to lose it

You sound really smart. Are you a scientist? Please send your study links to your statements so that we can be assured that you're not talking out of your arse.

It's was ridiculous comment to make, deliberately simplistic and inflammatory, but I'll feed that troll for a moment. Of course technology makes a difference, but give me Kipchoge's shoes and I can't run 1:59.
Rather than running comparisons, why not compare with a sport which is technology-dependent, as that's where we've got to now? For example, take Formula One: you can't really compare the talents of George Russell with Lewis Hamilton, as Russell drives a Williams (the slowest car) and Hamilton a Mercedes (the fastest). But you can directly compare Hamilton with Valtteri Bottas, his team-mate, who uses exactly the same car.
Runners should be listed in stats like F1 drivers, with their shoes listed in brackets: Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), George Russell (Williams), Eliud Kipchoge (Nike), etc...

Yeah, that's valid. But for a guy who always talks about being so mindful about everything, I'm going to take his written word at face value for what he meant to say.
