She’s wearing the same Asics that Jan Frodeno was wearing to win Ironman yesterday. BTW he ran the marathon leg in 2:40.

That picture is not from yesterday’s Chicago Marathon.
Not shoe related, but it's nice to see some elite distance runners with some muscle and body mass, especially those calves. So sick of seeing wafer thin anorexics out there withering under the slightest pressure. I know nothing about Bates, but her gait and form imply toughness and an ability to diesel through when other elites come up lame out of nowhere.
Good show out there. We need more of this, less of the NOP-type elves.
