Looks like a number of Americans are missing from that list. I think you were pulling from a list of athletes labelled "elite" so these others didn't show up in those results.

The list of guys hitting OTQ Times should reach 200 or more by the end of the year. There has to be another 500 or so guys who can run 2:20-2:30 in the USA. The U.S has depth. Unfortunately, it’s just not at the top levels of the sport. The USA has to be on the top 5, 6, or 7 countries in the world in terms of depth all the way down to 2:20 and etc.

The standard is too weak. In 1956 & 1960 Summer Olympics, Ethiopia used to send men who were 11.xx to 12.xx 100m sprinters. I am sure Ethiopian men can still sprint 11.xx to 12.xx 100m. Since so many men are sprinting sub-10.2 100m, the standards were made tougher. Ethiopians no longer qualify in 100m dash. Olympics are still taking slow Australian, slow Canadian, slow European men and slow U.S. men in as Olympic Marathoners because those are wealthy nations. Olympics are a tv show. TV commercials is what it is all about. The world has moved on away from Ethiopian 100m sprinters; the world has moved on away from Australian, Canadian, European and U.S. Marathoners.
Good catch and thanks for the correction.

You need some awareness. I think that a more realistic over-under number would be X00 (maybe 400 or 500). There were 61 runners who broke 2:20 at CIM.
Don’t be bitter, babuschka, and start projecting that Debbie Downer stuff...
Has the guy who lives in his van in Boulder CO OMTQ yet ..?! I forget his name..last time I saw he bombed at Grandma’s.
We suck at developing marathoners about as bad as you suck at posing questions.

Colby Mehmen? Doubtful, but hope he gets it at CIM or Revel. He should drive that damn van to wherever Joe Whelan is training or at least up to Ft. Collins to tag along with Siemers Dreamers.
Did you mean break 2:10?
