Hey Letsrunner,
I am currently U23, wanting to set a NR for 5000m. (Not living in the US, I have 2yrs left to shave off 24secs my 5k in order to break the record.)
I am inspired by Konstanze Klosterhalfen and Sifan Hassan. They are both light and have beautiful strides.
Not only that, they are making progressions throughout their running career consistently.
I am forced to have 3 meals a day and I normally just eat whatever my mum cooks. My family is not very health conscious, so I think I can make improvements by just losing my extra weight - especially when I am quite big and does not look like a typical runner.
Anyone training closely with them? What do elite runners like them eat? What will be my optimal race weight? I think anything about BMI 15 should be okay.
My plan is eating 800kcals daily. But It is very difficult for me to count the calorie accurately (unless I cook for myself, which I cannot because I am still being treated like a child at home).
Any suggestions/ diet tips?
Also do i still have any hopes to grow taller?
