This is my second ever year of running xc and last year(sophomore year) I ran a season best of 19:23. This year, I've ran two good races so far: Paul Short which I ran 17:39 after going out at a stupid pace for me (5:22 first mile, and probably could've ran under 17:30 if I paced myself), and 18:29 at a really hilly(multiple hills,1 huge up hill, and 400m to finish line is a slight up hill) conference champs jv race (Went out first mile stupidly in 5:16 and went to place 15th out of 200+ kids). I have two full weeks to prepare myself for my last race which is districts(Paul Short course). Is there a possibility that I can go under 17 at that race if I am patient and able to pace myself properly(16:59-16:47)?
