Probably equivalent to 2:05:14 - 2:01:04. A contrived joke event. Just run west to east on a major flat highway with a massive tailwind, I’m sure everyone will jump up and down with glee over the next level human achievement. This 1:59:40.2 is not really an improvement in training or human development, maybe technology and coordination of the technology. Have a think about Steve Jones and his 1985 unevenly paced ~solo from 2 miles on ...2:07:12; better pacing maybe 2:05:48. Now place that aside Kipchoge where he was very purposefully paced for 42km out of 42.195km. Imagine Bolt sprinting behind a giant air dam..what would his best efforts be..? Bannister was paced by two teammates for 3/4 of his historic mile 3:59.4. Maybe Kipchoge could’ve run the last 10.5km to keep it in perspective..? What if you could watch Jim Ryun’s 3;51.1 on a dirt track ..but place him on the Doha track ..I’m pretty sure you’d have witnessed 3:47.6. This was a stunt using a great athlete to show off new technologies..but not new limits. We’ve reached our limits and those limits were drug induced/infused.
