The course could have been 25.5 miles long and we would never have anything but Nike's word that it was a full marathon

Bro you could literally go and measure it yourself. Not that you should or will. You're right - they said it was a marathon...and we have to take their word for it. And we should.
Of course they measure to the outside. Otherwise the paint on curves would be up on top of the kerbing. Good grief.
kerbing? What kerbing? These are lines painted on the road.
Sorry, point stands, we need to know exactly how the course was measured using them. Otherwise there's not telling how far Eliud ran.

Disregarding the fact that you’re mentally a ten year old, there is nothing to be DQ’d from.
It wasn’t a race. It wasn’t a competition. It was an event where some guy, I already forgot his name, ran 26 miles faster than anyone else has.
He also ran 26.2 miles faster than anyone else has. No one outside of the sport makes that distinction.
Everyone is missing the point; that orange line means absolutely nothing!

We are literally arguing with a guy who believes the earth is flat.
If you cannot produce "solid" evidence that earth is curved, then he won't be convinced.
It's like talking to a brick wall.
It doesn't count anyway, so unless the one 'lane infraction' meaningfully affects whether he got under the 2 hour mark, I don't care.

Then why did they go to the trouble and expense of drawing it, and telling the pacer captain to always stay between the lines?

People are slamming me for pointing on those african cheats. Now it's clearly visibly how dirty they really are.
They're ruining our sport.
He smiled at about 1:48. I've never seen marathoner smile during the race.
I'm sorry, the record can't stand.
Hugh Jones was there to make sure Eliud did not step "outside" the lines.

Do you have OCD or autism? This is a serious question.
This is probably why you believe in a flat earth while also being atheist if you demand only strict lines of evidence.
Don't calculate probabilities . If we don't have rules there would be anarchy . He can try again next year wearing next%V2 shoes.
