London in April 2020?
London in April 2020?
If Bekele beats kipchoge in London, will that make ineos1:59 stupid?
Why would it?
Do you think Bekele couldn’t get a 1:59:59 publicity stunt set up if he wanted one?
Michael Jordan’s career shooting percentage was >50%. Even a GOAT can be beaten.
(Except Barry Sanders. 5 yds/carry? What a beast)

why would the commentators talk about everest without giving credit to sherpa tenzing?

I think they both need to avoid each other until Tokyo.
Kipchoge specifically.
he holds two world records...........yes, the INEOS challenge is a world record in my books.
Kipchoge needs nothing. Bekele needs it all........including the gold medal.
Kipchoge should avoid Bekele.......until Tokyo, then, drop something huge and then, let Bekele react.
As they say, 'we've got game!'

Give it a rest.
I think he should try Boston, Tokyo and New York
That's what you took from this? wrote:

They gave credit to the whole continent of Africa, what about Asian achievements?

I've wondered if Bekele would run Tokyo to send a clear message to the Ethiopian selectors. He was meant run there this year before pulling out.
10 oz gloves, 10 rounds in Vegas.
My money’s on KB

Seriously, he should run and hopefully win Boston and NY at least once. But all three in one year does not sound like optimal preparation, so does not sound like Kipchoge.
Why are people suddenly acting like Bekele is a marathon god?
Yes, he's the overall distance GOAT but out of 8 marathons he has done, he's done well in 6 of them.
Kipchoge has nothing to prove right now vs. Bekele. I assume Kipchoge will due Tokyo in the spring (he has hinted at it) so he can figure out the taper and race prep with a huge time difference. Bekele will probably do London and then they will meet up at the olympics. This is assuming Bekele gets to the olympics. If he bombs hard at London or has another stupid DNF he might not even make the team...

Meant to say he's done well in 2 of them.

Or Berlin... Why are you and anyone else so wadded up over anything to do with another hot Olympic Games marathon ..fvkc that. Plus don’t the both of them have enough gold necklaces..? Run for the WR on the best courses ..period.
Kipchoge will go for Olympic gold.
Bekele will go for the world record in Berlin.
You read it here first.

Bc when motivated and healthy, he's better.
Yeah, I just want to see a head-to-head showdown against 2 legends---hard to say if Kenny B will do Tokyo or not--it would be great for running to have them meet at least once again!

Because Bekele is probably better. If you asked me to bet on the winner of a potential H2H matchup between the two, this second, for a race in the future, I'd pick Kipchoge without hesitation.
If you altered those conditions and I got to pick the winner with an assurance that Bekele was healthy, with an uninterrupted 4 months block of training...I'd pick Bekele

Yes, history speaks against Bekele having another great marathon soon.

The thing is Bekele changed his approach. It’s seems his last build up had an increased focus on nutrition, injury prevention, and stress reduction (not having to run businesses and be around family).
If he repeats this for any more buildups we will likely see similar success considering his extreme talent.
This is a sharp Bekele and it would be amazing to see he and Kipchoge race any marathon now. I have a feeling they will both be offered a lot of money to race in London. At least I hope they are.
