Cameron Wurf, the Kona bike leg record holder has been supported by Nike this year and they provided him Kipchoge’s training plan (adapted)., which he has been following. This could explain why Wurf has now run a 2:45 in his most recent Ironman.
He is obviously the best biker out there. He has the best bike (Pinarello has provided him the best available technology). Winds are expected to be strong this weekend (therefore the best bikers will shine even more). The not so good bikers who have adapted their position in wind tunnels this year may get very surprised when they get sideway winds this weekend.
He (like Kipchoge) is primed to peak this weekend. I have to put my money on Wurf for the win.
