I'd wish for less stories / more running. NBC coverage is annoying.
15:28 5k split for Kosgei
That's 4:59 pace or 65 low HM pace. Her male pacemakers are going way too fast as evident by them being right behind the sub 2:11 men group. Hopefully they cool it down a bit.

Rupp's form looks a little different. Less power in his stride compared to last year.
Less Sal Syrup in his veins compared to last year!

Kosgei now just behind the US men's pack. What price will she pay for that insane first 5K?
She looks good and calm. Just with her pacemakers now. Went out too hard, with the 2:10/2:11 group for first 5k but now she is settled in. 15:28 through 5k (2:10 pace).
Very important: Not the pacemaker's fault at all, she was pressing them hard to go faster and faster. Plan was 68 through half, but now they are at 65 half pace. I'm afraid she will deplete her glycogen stores and bonk later.

Wtf? Timing error?
Did Hasay already drop out?
Cox really going out on a limb - " I believe that 15:28 5K split may have been the fastest first 5K split for women's marathon" Really?? You think Josh?
D. Monti on Twitter: "Jordan Hasay just recorded a 5-K split: 22:20. That's a 3:08:21 pace. It's possible that she's walking. "
I don't know. I just checked it out here

Hasay 22:20 5K ???
Can you gentlemen please put up the link for live results? Thank you.
I was at Mile 2 and Kosgei was so smooth and probably Top 15... most impressive: the 2nd Japanese runner has the most powerful stride I've seen.. not efficient in the marathon but the dude eats up ground. Rupp did look ragged trying to hang on to Mo's pack, which was behind a pack of 4. It's a fast day. My wife is running 20-sec. faster per goal mile pace through 5K and she's well-trained and disciplined, just the day. We shall see.
Kosgei looks like she is favoring her right leg a little.
Kosgei: That's my girl. Run crazy in first half and then bonk in the second hard
