Agreed, and I am NO fan of Salazar or Nike, for that matter, but Rupp is way tougher than he looks.

Unless we proposing we all go back to barefoot running and dirt tracks can we stop with the complaining about the shoes.
The very first shoes were leaps ahead of barefoot and great enhanced the distance and speed people can run, a much bigger improvement than "4%". Technology advances, get over it. It's a shoe, there isn't really springs in it, stop this nonsense.

That's a backhanded compliment. Everyone here knows how tough he looks.

On or off the drugs tougher..?! If you’re no fan of ALSal ..then you’re a fool to worship RUPP ... Who do you think AlSal was doping over the last 12+ years ..?!

Salazar Derangement Syndrome is going to be in the next DSM-5 update . It's coming in right before the new Trump Derangement Syndrome listing. They have the exact same symptoms but Salazar Derangement Syndrome is only found in distance runners or those affiliated with distance running who have another clinically identified mental disorder.

Excellent. Bye, off-score Paula.
I’d like to see Kosgei’s hgb and ret% values.
Me too. For the last three years. Along with Paula's 2002 - 2005, and Farah 2011 - 2017.
NBC Gold replay lacks any commentary track?

The NBC Gold live broadcast lacked the commentary as well.

Heres the last 3 minutes of Kosgei's world record.
Fantastic run. The photo op with Paula after the race was cringe level 100
https://youtu.be/kn3y50MRGjYIt's hard to see but her shoes really, really don't look like Vaporflys. They look far too thin
lol they are absolutely the NEXT%
Disagree. There has and always been in athletics "performance regulation". This goes for track material/surface/shape to regulations on supports etc ... where do you draw the line. Is a knee support and string giving more "force" ok? or how about wheels on the shoes? They will / must regulate footwear. Us in the sport should demand it. Otherwise, you'll get all sorts of out of line tech doping results. Remember how FINA handled the swimsuit debacle when all kinds of WRs were broken easily? They outlawed them and put an * beside their results.
Has Chicago ever been safe? Al Capone, years of Daley rule, Non-stop Democratic corruption. And to top it all off, a Community Organizer of dubious background bent on destroying this great country. Plus no go zones where violence is a way of life. Yes, a fine model of good governance.
T.M.A.D.D.D.H.A.S.F.N.E.
So how many of you ran in a race where a world record was set?
Put up or shut up...
After all the social media trash talk, seems Droddy backed it up at Chicago.
Believe that is an almost 8 minute PR for him?
Where are all the trolls who like to trash US distance running for being a bunch of 2:12-2:14 nobody's. A whole slew of guys broke 2:12 today and it makes sense. You finally got a decent weather day at the only really fast American major. You knew most of these guys could hit these times if they kept rotating between Berlin/London every year. The Trials is gonna be a lot of fun. Rupp is not a lock. Fauble didn't look great this fall. Ward hasn't really raced since Boston but we'll see him in NYC. Now a ton of guys are in the sub-2:12 club. I'm in.
Bump
RUPP BACK ON COURSE!! 20 SECS BEHIND CHERONO, DEBELA & THE LEADERS!
Security stopping Rupp??? No, it's USADA. Rupp forgot to take the needle out of his arm, so they nailed him. Rupp's f¥{king crying now.

In the race for second American, i have it this way:
Scott Smith
Shrader
Gregg
Estrada
J.Mock
Bumbalough
Fischer
Root [the big improver]
Hampton
Montanez
All before Stinson and Droddy. I guess the last two will go with the pacers attempting to take 3 and 5 minutes off their PB's but Hampton will run them down like he did last year here if they do.
One subtle change: Matt McDonald in before Montanez.
Not too unhappy with how I went

I will take my medicine, I think Chicago last year was too much pressure when it was 2.11.30 or nothing.
