Hello let’s run community. I’m inspired. I was a solid hs runner but squandered my collegiate career under the great Rollie Geiger. Contrary to rumors I disagree that that program is a meat grinder. Fast running is encouraged but some fellas were always taking it chill for various reasons on mileage days. I approached coach Geiger w a strength plan I used in hs I thought was instrumental in me becoming fast enough to run for state. He didn’t shoot the idea down I was just too lazy and distracted to follow through with it. I doubt there’s a perfect program out there but if you wanna complain just run independently self coached. Anyway I just wanted to say that. Geiger is a good guy and seaton is intense but nice. I’m 28 now. I’ve tried to come back to running a few times without much success but I think I refused to acknowledge how arduous and long of a process a respectable comeback could be. I’ve been training for just over a week. Starting point: 6:50 pace 10 min interval and then 2 minutes on 1 minute walks. Starting from absolute zero is daunting but somewhere I have hope and it’s fun to try. Keep up with my quest to run solid on the roads and eventually get back on the track before it’s too late.
