Hi everyone, I started training in late may after my track season starting base training for the cross country season. Everything was going great until about late August when I was getting really bad right hip pain. Long story short I found out that I have a hip avulsion fracture and will be out for at least 6 weeks. I was in the best shape of my life. I was probably in shape to run a 17 minute 5000m on the track. I can start running again October 20th, but have to build super slowly back into training. The only cross training I can do is pull-buoys in the water (swimming with just your arms). I do that for about 30 min every day with a 2-3 mile walk. How long will it take to get back in shape after I start slowly running again. I really want to break 10:00 in the 3200 and 4:40 in the mile in track season. I appreciate any responses.
