Maybe actn3 xx. They can have muscles wirhout loosing as much energy as other people
Would Solinsky/Webb/Macdaddy have been more efficient with a little less upper body muscle? Most likely, just like some of the top women (Alyssa Montano, Charlotte Purdo) might have been a bit quicker were they to lose a bit of weight.
I do think there’s a point where a bit of muscle helps, and of course one of NOP’s first steps is normally to do so with their athletes, Konstanze being the exception.

No way. The upper muscle is useful to get rid of the punk jakobs trying to block your way or tripping you.

Doesn't look much different than Peter Snell. He's only around 5'9 and 15x pounds. So he's not that big. I think it has more to do with camera angles and the tights.
Snell didn't disappear for years on end.

If he were standing next to an actual RB you would not be saying this, although I understand what you are saying.
Most running backs his height are pushing 200 pounds. He’s 150
Even a receiver like deSean Jackson , who seems skinny in the nfl, clocks in at 185 and 5-10
He's about the same size as LA Rams WR JoJo Natson (5-7, 153). Makhloufi is massive by world class 1500 meter standards. So many of these 1500 guys these days are small, skinny and frail looking - very similar to marathon runners. It's awesome to watch a big, muscular cat like Makhloufi beat up on the little fellows. ??

False premise. Solinsky did try to lose some muscle, to fit the more stereotypical runners build. Thinking it would make him faster. Ended up with a career ending injury.
I am not a big man, or the average size of a lean sized college RB. But I will gladly grapple with you.I

Only in the world of distance running would this guy be considered “jacked”.
Sad.

HAHA..nothing about this body is out of the ordinary, we're talking about elite athletes ya'll..not everybody is EPO fueled because they have lean muscle..
He is a quite small relative to a running back, reggie bush in his prime was "small" and he was a truly ripped specimen at like 5'10 205..standing 5'9 150 something is hardly the build of a running back or anything epo fueled
He's hardly larger than Herb Lindsay was back in the day, and Lindsay was carrying the weight much further with success.
He would run faster with less weight, though, Cheater Hassan proves that:

Makhloufi's level of muscle maturity and physical conditioning is extremely rare. But he's still a small guy- average by 800m standards- as long as overall bodyweight is light then you're not going to be held back over 1500m by being muscular.

Lol my thoughts exactly.
Quarter-squatting supposedly 505 lbs:
Makhloufi rightfully earned the nickname "The Juice Man" after his juiced 2012 Olympic 1500 meter Gold medal performance. Juicers like Mack Daddy always come out during the Olympic year. And sometimes during the World Championships year. The Russian women are a prime example of not juicing up during a World Championships year. The performance of Russian women during an Olympic year was epic until the 2016 Rio Olympics, when they were finally banned from competing. Looked for The Juice Man to be close to Cheruiyot in the 1500 meter final of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics next year.

Uh...Solinsky got injured because he tripped over a dog and fell down the stairs. You have to know that, right? Are you saying that trying to lose muscle made him trip over his dog and fall down the stairs?

He's 5'9, 150.....that's not jacked.
Pictures are deceiving. Angle on on right leg makes it look bigger than it actually is.
He has some anterior delts, likely from good genetics and pushups.

Reds are 25kg, Yellows 15kg, Greens at least 10kg, bar is 20kg....
